Short Story … Blessing
Storytelling options SC09
I love you soooooo much! You’re smart, funny, creative, and gorgeous! There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you … well, almost nothing!
Analysis & reflection
By the way, having read this story, what did you think/ feel/ sense? As a story listener, ‘listen’ to your responses.
And then ask yourself, “What next?” That’s your choice!
A love note is more than just the words. It’s also what’s not spoken. These unspoken parts of the story are found between the lines if it’s a text or note, or in the voice or the body language if it is just these words that are spoken.
A way of indicating the story parts in these words above note could be shown with the following colour code:
Facts … Thoughts/ emotions/ sensations … Consequences/ outcomes sought/ hopes … Note any responses. … Decide what to do next.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love you soooooo much!
- (some appropriate form of physical touch, use of the person’s name, spoken lovingly, smile, eye contact)
You’re smart, funny, creative, and gorgeous!
- (Of course, again spoken lovingly if it’s not a text!)
There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you … well, almost nothing!
- (Confident, spoken from the heart. Maintain eye contact and smile.)
Pause
- (If you are telling this story, observe responses. If you are hearing this story, observe your own responses)
What’s next? You choose!
- (Smile? Respond somehow? Silence? Reply with a story? Ask for clarification? )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saying, “I love you!” is fine, but how about adding in some elements to make it a 3-part story as shown above? Even changing the order or each part makes it work! Make sure to pause after sharing it. Observe the response/reaction before wisely choosing your next step 😉

Having you as my soul mate is a match made in heaven. I am so thankful that you have loved me beyond all measure and all doubt. I love you.
